After over a year of publication, DM Haven is going dark for a while. Personal and work issues aren't giving me the time to write articles, and I'm not able to find other writers to take up the slack. Any writing I or others will do will be stockpiled until we have enough for regular publishing again.

As we are now in the midst of the holiday season, it occurred to me that having unique holidays in your game world adds flavor and atmosphere to your game. It also allows hooks into adventures and can be the backdrop to all sorts of events.

In China, a liquid fermented from the bones of tigers is thought to have medicinal properties.  Conservationists are worried that the sale of "tiger wine" that is supposedly made from farm-raised tigers could be masking the poaching of endangered wild tigers.  This suggests a new scenario: instead of going out to kill monsters and salvage their body parts, our heroes try to stop criminals who are illegally killing protected creatures.
